Evolution

Charles Darwin (1809-1882) is probably the most famous naturalist in history. He was 22 years old when he sailed from England as the naturalist on board the survey ship HMS Beagle.

Darwin found fossils around the world which were similar, but not identical, to present day organisms.

Most importantly, he made many observations in the Galapagos Archipelago.
