Much of what we now know about Mars has come from recent and current missions: Mars Pathfinder, Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Odyssey, Mars Express, of course the Mars Rovers (Spirit and Opportunity), and Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and Mars Phoenix.
