A problem: Same-handed molecules required to build RNA and DNA.

Almost all amino acids in living systems are left-handed. Putting a right-handed molecule into a left-handed polymer truncates the chain.

But: prebiotic chemistry should have been racemic -- equal amounts of left- and right-handed molecules.

Perhaps surfaces help with this.
