Amino acids, polymers, proteins

Now we can string together these nucleotide monomers and make a polymer.

That polymer is called a nucleic acid.

You may have heard of these suckers: deoxyrobinucleic acid (or DNA) and ribonucleic acid (or RNA).

The difference between DNA and RNA is that DNA is missing an oxygen on its second carbon (don't worry about these details).
