Sending and receiving signals
across the galaxy is going to require
using electromagnetic radiation which
travels at the speed of light.
But what wavelength? The early
researchers (Cocconi, Morrison,
Drake) arrived at the conclusion that
radio wavelengths would be the best
solution.
