Definitions:

entropy -- the measure of disorder (oppposite of information content) of a system

equilibrium -- state of balance (can be chemical, mechanical, dynamical)

information -- being in one state and not another (examples: coins, lanterns in the Old North Church)

system -- the ensemble of material, states, and environment which you are considering
