When Tycho died (How did he die?), Kepler inherited Tycho's high-precision (for the time) astronomical records.

From this data, Kepler was able to derive three fundamental laws of astronomy.

Nevertheless, Kepler earned his living in part by crafting horoscopes.

One of these horoscopes was found in a drawer at Lick Observatory, near San Jose, CA, in 1999.
